#NFLPA decertifies- NFL v.# Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees...

Well the time is here and what most fans have feared could become a reality- no pro football next fall. At 4 p.m. est. today, the #NFLPA announced that the only way they would consider another extension would be for the NFL's owners to accompany the extension request with 10 years of financial records. A move that the owners clearly won't do until summoned  to do so in the courts.
#De Maurice Smith has been taking a hit by people, who probably have never played the game on any level, because of his hard-line approach to the owners. He embodies the toughness, grit and determination of the players he represents. He is negotiating not for the present but for future generations of players to come. Two years ago when the NFLPA hired Smith all one had to do was take one good look and realize the owners were in trouble.
The previous agreement, which was settled in 1993, has been extended 5 times since. With each extension nothing changes.  Let us not forget that the owners exercised the "opt-out clause" that was included in the previous extension-not the players.  The previous extension was signed in 2006 under commissioner Paul Tagliabue. Three months before the late #Gene Upshaw, the NFLPA's last union leader, passed away.
